I replied "I did not cut your line why would i cut the line i wish to tie up. "It's OK my friend i don't mind, really if you wish to cut the line then i guess that is what i would do.
"I did not cut the *****line OK, end of story.
Ross and Jo and Don and Maureen joined us for a wonderful roast lamb and salad dinner served in the cockpit of Ocean free for and we laughed and talked relishing the company and the balmy evening temperature till midnight.
We had organised a trip the next day for the eight of us to head up the Dalyan river, where in fact they had filmed the African Queen all those years ago. Its a handy source of beach reeds and beautiful sweeping water ways stretching off into the landscape, with a scenery that could easily be Africa or for that matter the east.

We had a great captain/guide for the day his English honed from 12 years as boat boy on George Martin the Beatles producer Gulet in Marmaris and a real desire to enrich us with the details of his culture.
it was fantastic travelling up river to the site of the ancient city of 30,000 before the silting of the river mouth altered their harbour facility and it fell back into ruin. We were free to explore the amphitheatre and the Agora, the market meeting area and the temple and a nice touch was a sparse restoration on some ruins to show the splendour of the original look before inevitably the marble was plundered or recycled for an other project somewhere else as so often has happened. All fine facade stripped and Bronze statuary remelted for the next dynasties ornamentation.
We stopped for lunch high up the Dalyan and sat with mezze at the water edge and gazed upon the Necropoli high in the stony hillside. These were amazing edifices carved in 3 D relief out of the cliff to house the mummified remains of the ancients in huge elaborate family temple type vaults. Some of these due to change in circumstances remain unfinished and over the centuries smaller cave like "pigeon holes" have taken over their role.
The deserted sandspit we passed early morning on our return was completely covered in Tourist bodies as the hordes of tourist from the town of Dalyan had by the time of our return voyage all been shipped out to the bar to bake ion the 30+ degree temperature. we were delivered back to the yacht and have had a beautiful afternoon talking ,drinking and contemplating out restaurant meal ashore this evening. it is a remarkable set up ashore full washing and shower facilities and assistance...as such to moor and no charge, all on the basis that you will eventually spend money at the restaurant. A few freeloading live aboards do tie off to the side walls of the bay but they are the exception to the rule.
we have Rosco next door on the wall and a row of charter boats while at the end of the wharf sits a 160 foot super yacht cheek by jowl with the rest of us. there is a lot to recommend weather you can hang your hat on and no tide, anything is possible.
